Team Lead, Security Engineering

• 
  Meet regularly with the team members to ensure that they are working toward personal, team and career goals.
• Serve as an example of the core values of Liferay (produce excellence, servant leadership, caring relationship-value people, grow and get better, and stay nerdy).
• Handle HR related tasks and responsibilities (examples: interview candidates, submit team overtime hours)
• Prepare and deliver Performance Reviews, Plan promotions
• Helping the team evaluate security vulnerabilities in the product, classify them
• Helping fixing security vulnerabilities and giving guidance for others
• Working with the team on backport vulnerability fixes for older versions of the product
• Patching open source libraries
• Manage to write public facing summary of vulnerabilities
• Develop tools to detect vulnerabilities in Liferay DXP codebase
• Working together with the testing team on complex problem classification
• Working with the Security Testing team on ensuring we have the best tools to scan our product
• Ensure tests are run in time
• Ensure test reports are available for our customers and prospects
• Work with Project Management to ensure the vulnerabilities are resolved within the agreed SLA
• Improve the security vulnerability issue management
• Manage Liferay’s CVE program
• Manage Liferay’s security bug bounty program and ensure we provide timely response and resolution for reported issues
• Manage external reported vulnerabilities
• Be part of SEV-1 and SEV-0 incident management calls in case they are product vulnerability related

Required Qualifications

• 
  Holding an IT-related degree and a technical background is essential for a Security Engineer role
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Ability to independently work in a global environment, fluent English level.

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Experience in a fast paced technical environment
• Strong capacity for debugging application and security issues;
• Knowledge of a variety of programming languages (C/C++, Java/J2EE, .NET, ASM);
• Strong knowledge of application design, development and testing techniques;
• Knowledge of specific attack types and common security bug categories;
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field of application security;
• Minimum 1 years’ experience leading a successful team in the industry;
